Types of Hearing Aids

 
There are four types of hearing aids; Behind The Ear, In The Ear, In The Canal, & Completely In The Canal:

1- Behind The Ear (BTE) 
-Rests behind the ear.
-A plastic tube funnels amplified sound into an earmold in the ear canal.
-Can be more durable than other types.
 

2- In The Ear (ITE)
-Components are housed in a custom-formed earmold that fits within the outer portion of the ear.
-Convenient size.
-Easy-to-use controls.
 

3- In The Canal (ITC)
-Components are housed in an earmold that fits down into the ear canal.
-Size is smaller than ITE instruments.
-Visible within the outer ear.
 

4- Completely In The Canal (CIC)
-Latest generation of hearing instruments.
-Slide deep into the ear canal..
-Popular for their aesthetic appeal.
